How to make your tenancy application stand out from the rest
In a very competitive rental market, like Auckland has, Tenants have to find a way to stand out from the crowd.
Below are some tips of how to make your Application stand out.
- Provide 2 forms of photo ID. ( Passport and drivers licence)
- Provide your current address and previous address.
- Provide proof of your current address. ( Electricity bill, phone bill)
- Provide the name and contact details of the last two people that you were renting from.
- Provide proof that you can afford the rent. ( 3 months’ worth of payslips or bank statements)
- Provide References from at least 3 people that are not your family members.
- Provide a brief cover letter about yourself.
- Make sure you fill out the whole application form.
Have all of the supporting documents listed above ready to go before you head out and view properties. Furthermore when you are organizing viewing times ask the property manager for a copy of the application form so you can have it filled out before you go to the viewing.
